University Casino Cash Calendar Printing Rakes In The Cash
Education Calendar Printing Case Study
The University of Great Falls printed a yearly calendar that got the whole community involved by combining cash prizes.*
The University Objective
Print a calendar called the cash calendar. The calendar represented the universities sports programs but it also incorporated the community by inviting local sports clubs to participate and people who bought the calendar could win money $25.00 to $1,000.00 monthly.
The university had the idea to give cash away to people who purchased the calendar as incentive to buy one. They hired a local design artist to design a calendar and called it the Cash Calendar.
The university paid for the printing cost up front. The calendar featured the sports programs at the university along with local sporting clubs, which were also incorporated into the calendar with the goal of getting the community more involved to help sell more calendars.
People who purchased the calendar for $25.00 got a 12 -month calendar with full color photos and were entered into monthly drawings in hopes of being a winner. Monday through Saturday winners receive $25.00 and on Sunday a name is drawn for a $100.00 prize. At the end of each month a winner receives a check in the mail and their name is posted on the University’s website.
Each local sports club was given their own top page of the calendar to show pictures of athletes. The bottom pages were a simple design that reminded people about the drawing at the end of each month.
The university’s athletes sold the calendar around campus and in the community. The local sporting clubs also received calendars to sell at sporting events. The university received $10 for every calendar sold by the sporting clubs.
