A University of Florida fan turns his passion for gator football into a growing business called “Alligator Dreams” by printing calendars filled with the gator’s mascot.
Alligator Dreams is a company that makes children books, puzzles, and calendars that represent the University of Florida. The owner decided to start the company back in 2007. His business plan was to sell the beloved Gator Mascot.
Alligator Dreams objective was:
Print a calendar that gator fans could enjoy all year long.
The company had one artist drawn alligator’s cartoons that looked like the University of Florida mascot. The alligator through out the calendar would be playing different sports from football, basketball, baseball, and others. The pictures were colorful and vibrant.
The company used Printing Center USA basic online calendar template to design the layout.
Alligator Dreams sold the calendar to local shops and the university for $6.00. The stores would sell the calendar for $12.00.
To use the university mascot Alligator Dreams had to pay a 10% royalty fee to the school.
Results
Alligator Dreams printed 2 thousand calendars and sold all of them for $6.00: Making $12,000.00.
