Education Calendar Printing Case Study
Organization: Montana Wheat Growers and Montana State University Montana State University Urban Integrated Pest Management Program used Calendar Printing to inform County Agencies and Montana Wheat Growers about common Montana Wheat Pests. The Objectives Design a twelve-month calendar to educate county agencies and growers about wheat pests. The Montana Wheat and Barley Committee sponsored the calendar. The MSU Communications and Publications office designed the calendar. The campaign had the following objectives. Print a calendar that would be handed out free to State Agencies and Montana Wheat Growers. The calendar would show how destructive the wheat pests are by using photography. The pictures chosen for the calendar portrayed the different wheat pests that destroy Montana wheat crops. A short paragraph on each page of the month educated people about the problems caused by the certain wheat pest and what could be done to solve the problem without using pesticides. To cut cost, students working in the wheat fields, shot some of the photography. One designer worked on the design with input from the nonprofit organization to also decrease costs. Results
