Colorado City Looks to Bring in New Business with Brochure Printing

The city is trying to draw in more business owners.

Longmont, a city in Colorado, is hoping to attract entrepreneurs and small business owners to the area with a new brochure printing program, the Longmont Times-Call reports.

The Longmont Area Economic Council requested an additional $20,000 to help support the initiative. For the first time in nearly eight years, the city's marketing brochure will be updated. LAEC's website will also be updated, and the group plans to advertise more in relevant trade publications as well.

To sweeten the deal, Longmont mayor Bryan Baum indicated the city planned on offering more incentives to entrepreneurs who opened shop in the area, including Longmont Symphony tickets as well as golf and recreation center passes.

"There's virtually no incremental cost to [those incentives], so why not? Why not kind of pile it on, as it were?" Dave Huminek, who has been appointed to help design the strategic vision plan, told the source.

Earlier this month, the town of Windham, New Hampshire, decided to take similar measures. The city developed its first-ever marketing brochure that was handed out to local entrepreneurs.
