Flagler College, a Florida-based university, recently used brochure printing to promote its study abroad program. The brochure was so well received that it was even recognized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education with an award. The brochure was praised for its use of captivating imagery, which was contributed by students who had been a part of Flagler College's study abroad program in the past. CASE also recognized the brochure for the fact that it was produced on a limited budget, highlighting the cost efficiency of brochure printing. "In the 2011 CASE District III Awards program, which covers the southeastern portion of the U.S., [Flagler College's director of marketing communications Carrie] Chowske was the Grand Award Winner in the low budget publications category for the college's study abroad brochure, beating out such notables as UNC-Chapel Hill and College of Charleston," the school explained in a press release. Many schools rely on print marketing because it is both cost effective and excels at targeting local consumers. Universities should also consider poster printing or flyer printing in addition to color brochures.
