Officials of the Greater Susquehanna Valley area of Pennsylvania have launched a new advertising campaign, highlighted by brochure printing, to sell a vacant lot in Selinsgrove, the Daily Item reports.
The lot was prepared five years ago with a $2.4 million grant, but the town has since had trouble selling the lot. In addition to a new sign advertising the lot, the city is also launching a new brochure that explains the benefits for businesses looking to move into the 48-acre site.
"What we're trying to do is magnify the presence of the park and to increase its marketability," Charlie Ross, chief executive officer of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce, told the news source. "Since we still have funds under the original grant to do so, and got state approval to do so, we are erecting a new sign."
Because brochures are inexpensive to produce, many government organizations use them to stretch their already limited marketing budgets. It isn't uncommon to see groups using brochures to encourage tourism or drive awareness of local issues.
