The Sioux Falls School District is leveraging print marketing materials as a part of its outreach program, the Argus Leader reports.
The school district uses a variety of paper products for different purposes. For example, it prints and mails tri-fold brochures to all district postal addresses, while it uses postcard printing to help encourage parents to contact lawmakers about school funding. Sioux Falls also sends a 24-page annual report of its operations to more than 73,000 postal addresses.
To pay for its print marketing initiatives, the Sioux Fall School District runs several after-school programs such as tutoring and childcare services. "The district's 'enterprise' programs made a $500,000 profit in the year ending June 2010. And when this school year ends, the district is expanding its most profitable small business venture, Kids Inc., an elementary after-school program," explains the source.
Schools at all levels, elementary through college, use print marketing to reach students and parents. For example, Flagler College was recently recognized for its study abroad marketing brochure by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
