The military academy hopes to recruit more students.
06/09/11
The famous military school West Point academy is looking to bolster recruitment rates through a new print marketing initiative that will be launched later this year. The campaign is still in the planning process - West Point still hasn't even picked an agency to work with - but the overall goal is create more touchpoints to reach potential candidates. West Point's campaign is aimed to target candidates for the academy as well as parents, counselors and schools - anyone who could have an influence on where students wish to attend college. The campaign is set to launch later this year, with September as the anticipated start date. While West Point didn't specify which materials it wanted to use for the campaign, it could range from postcard to brochure printing. The academy is looking for a partner that can provide print production, mailing services, labels and a variety of finished products. The military frequently uses direct mail marketing initiatives to reach potential servicemen. For example, the U.S. Air Force released a $11 million direct mail campaign last year to reach prospective recruits. The print initiative was supported by online elements as well.
