French video game publisher Ubisoft is promoting the release of a new video game by printing posters, reports gaming blog Joystiq.
The posters promote Ubisoft's upcoming game, Bloody Good Time, which stars a cast of teenage actors competing for a movie role. Ubisoft sent three posters to game critics and bloggers, each parodying popular Hollywood movies, such as Jaws, Pulp Fiction and Friday the 13th. The posters featured the tag line, "You may not know it... but everyone can make it big in Hollywood... with a glimpse of cruelty!"
The game is scheduled to launch soon for home computers and Microsoft's XBox 360 console. The source speculates the game will be further detailed at Penny Arcade Expo, an upcoming game industry trade show.
Several companies in the entertainment industry use print materials to virally generate exposure for upcoming releases. For example, Overture Films recently launched a postcard printing campaign to promote Let Me In, a remake of the 2008 Swedish horror movie, Let the Right One In.
