USPS Touts Every Door Direct Mail Program

The USPS is touting the benefits of direct mail.

The United States Postal Service recently touted the benefits of its Every Door Direct Mail program, which small businesses can use to ship print marketing materials to consumers.

The program offers entrepreneurs low-cost services without having to purchase or rent mailing lists. Materials sent under the service can be addressed to all addresses on a route (Postal Customer), consumers' homes (Residential Customers) or straight to PO boxholders. Every Door Direct Mail saves senders prep time and money, according to the USPS.

"Every Door Direct Mail is ideal for restaurants, doctors' offices, hair salons - or any kind of local business that is not currently using the mail," said Paul Vogel, president and chief marketing/sales officer.

"Direct mail has long been a proven advertising tool of choice of successful large businesses and Fortune 500 companies to promote products and drive sales. Now it's easier and less expensive for small businesses to grow using direct mail," Vogel added.

While direct mail initiatives, ranging from catalog to postcard printing, are effective marketing tactics, the new program is largely designed to help the USPS recover some of its losses, which are mounting exponentially.
