Door hangers are raising awareness about animal licensing.
06/08/11
The City of Lake Elsinore is currently looking for volunteers to launch a door hanger printing campaign designed to increase awareness for animal licensing, the Lake Elsinore Patch reports. Volunteers will be tasked with going door-to-door and mounting door hangers on consumers' homes. The city notes that while more than 10,000 dogs and cats are living in the city, less than half were registered. The door hangers will contain information about licensing pets along with a coupon for new licensing fees and are bilingual, ensuring that both English- and Spanish-speaking residents can read the materials. "Licensing can help save pets’ lives by identifying animal owners. In 2009, 596 dogs and 712 cats found in Lake Elsinore that were temporarily housed at the local animal shelter ultimately had to be euthanized, according to the city," the news source explains. Because door hangers can be used to effectively reach nearby consumers, many businesses targeting local crowds use these materials. For example, it isn't uncommon to see pizza shops and restaurants advertise using door hangers.
