FAQs
What is a Photography Book?
A book is usually an 8.5 x 11 soft cover perfect bound multi-page project with a higher page count, unlike booklets, which are usually 5.5 x 8.5 self-cover saddle stitch multi-page projects with a lower page count. Books can also be spiral, wire-o, or saddle stitch.
How to self-publish a book?
To self-publish a book, gather your content and images for your project, utilize our free online design tool or downloadable templates to layout your project, determine your desired specifications on our pricing tool, then order and upload your print-ready PDF file! Click here to learn more about self-publishing a book.
How to make a Photography Book?
To make a book, try our free online design tool or downloadable templates to lay out your pictures and content, then order and upload your print-ready PDF file. Click here to learn more about designing your book.
How to make a book cover?
You can place your desired images and content onto your front and back cover to make a book cover. These pages need to be separate, not spread. Create the design of your perfect-bound spine at the dimensions provided in the spine calculator. You will save this spine separately from your print-ready PDF. If you have any questions or concerns about your cover or spine, please feel free to leave a note at checkout, and your technical service rep will address your concerns.
Templates
Using our blank templates is great because the files are already checked and have the proper format we need to print. Use our templates to help you double check your designs so that when you submit your order, your files are error free!
PrintingCenterUSA recommends that the resolution of your images and document be 300 dpi or more.
Bleeds
Bleed is an extra 1/8” of image that extends beyond the trim area of your printed piece. The project is printed on an oversized sheet that is cut down to size with the appearance that the image is “bleeding” off the edge of the paper.
