What is the Difference Between Hardcover and Paperback?
Hardcover books are made of heavy paperboard covered with cloth, heavy paper, or leather whereas paperback books are made of thick paper or cardstock. Because of the materials that hardcover books are made out of, they are heavier than paperback books. Hardcover books also have a flexible, sewn spine. Paperback books are bound together with glue and have a square spine. Hardcover books are usually more expensive than paperback books.
