How One Teacher Turned a Moment of Acceptance into a Children’s Book That Inspires

At PrintingCenterUSA, we love seeing meaningful stories come to life through print. For author and educator Kevin Cripe, a single moment in a classroom became the inspiration for a children’s book that celebrates individuality, confidence, and acceptance.

Princess Max Conquers the World is a heartwarming story that reminds children – and adults – that being yourself is something to be celebrated. What began as a real-life experience while teaching abroad turned into a beautifully illustrated book that now helps spark important conversations with families, educators, and communities.

About Kevin Cripe and Princess Max Conquers the World

Kevin Cripe is a longtime teacher whose work has taken him around the world. While teaching chess at a library in Boquete, Panama, Kevin experienced a moment that stayed with him long after the class ended.

One day, a nine-year-old student arrived late to class wearing a floor-length blue dress. With a bright smile, the child announced, “This is my favorite Cinderella dress!” Kevin welcomed him without hesitation and continued the lesson as usual. Some days the student wore a dress, some days he didn’t, but no one treated him any differently.

“That moment showed me something powerful,” Kevin shared. “He was just being himself, and everyone accepted him without question.”

Years later, during the quiet time of the COVID pandemic, Kevin began writing children’s books. That classroom memory became the foundation for Princess Max Conquers the World, a story designed to help children who feel different know they are not alone.

The Challenge

When Kevin decided to publish Princess Max Conquers the World, he wanted the physical book to reflect the heart of the story. The message was deeply personal, and the illustrations played a vital role in bringing Max and Nadi’s journey to life.

Kevin needed a printing partner who could:

  • Produce vibrant, consistent color for detailed illustrations
  • Create a high-quality children’s book that felt professional and durable
  • Deliver a finished product he could confidently share at readings and events

The book wasn’t just something to sell, it was something to read aloud, share with families, and use as a tool for connection and understanding.

The Printing Solution

Kevin partnered with PrintingCenterUSA to bring Princess Max Conquers the World to life in print. The finished books feature rich colors, smooth page turns, and a polished feel that matches the care and intention behind the story.
