Pamphlets are a great way to get your message out there and can be a practical tool for small local businesses or organizations to hand out and advertise. Studies have shown that people respond very well to print ads when compared to digital ads. This is because there is a lot more trust placed on print. Not only that, but pamphlets are small enough to be easily carried around and kept with customers, yet large enough to not be easily discarded without a second thought. Customers can refer back to a well-designed pamphlet to look at your services, or to find your contact information. It’s a great way to connect with your audience, even after they leave your store.

Now onto the best paper for pamphlet printing. Our recommendation is to print your pamphlet with 100# Gloss Text. We have found that this paper works wonderfully well for brochures and pamphlets because it gives an upscale, sharp, and appealing look with a higher-end feel, while not being too thick to be clunky or inflexible. This shiny and lustrous coated sheet is excellent for full color printing and makes photographs stand out and look rich and beautiful. But don’t just take our word for it. You can order a free sample pack to be able to see and feel all of our paper options for yourself to find the perfect paper for your pamphlets.

We also offer the following paper options:

Now that you have got your size and paper in order, it’s time to think about what kind of fold you would like for your pamphlet. The size that your pamphlet is can affect what folding options we offer. See the chart below for the folding options available for each size.

Below is a brief description of what the different folding options are:

Mailing Services

BrochureMailingTemplates-1

Did you know that you can mail your pamphlets to your customers? These can also be called folded mailers or folded postcards. They are a great way to reach your customers in their homes. All you have to do is provide your mailing list in a csv file. To send first class mail, we require a minimum of 500 pieces. For presort standard, we require an order of at least 200 pieces. If you are planning to mail your pamphlets, make sure that you leave enough room for the shipping address and stamp; this is where our downloadable templates come in handy!

What is the Difference Between a Brochure and a Pamphlet?

The main difference between a brochure and a pamphlet is the subject matter. A pamphlet is generally used for non-commercial promotion, while brochures are usually used to advertise products and services. Brochures also typically have more images. However, these two terms are often used interchangeably in many circles.

Designing Your First Pamphlet

When you are in the process of designing your pamphlet, you want to create a great first impression with a catchy headline. Headlines are also especially useful to break up large bodies of text and make your pamphlet easier to read. Strategically use headlines so that your readers can find the information that they are looking for quickly. If you are including a sale, be sure to put a badge or a header that advertises that sale on the front of your pamphlet so that your readers have an incentive to open the pamphlet for more information.

Make sure that you include relevant and beautiful images and bold graphics to support your text. There is nothing worse than a reading material that is too text heavy. You feel your eyes glaze over and your mind starts to wander. Take a look at the two images below. Which one would you rather pick up and read?

images-and-graphics

When using images, make sure that your image DPI is at 300 or larger. This will ensure that your images print crystal clear. We recommend avoiding photos that are downloaded from an email or Facebook as these images are often compressed to be a DPI of 72, which is the standard DPI for digital images. Print requires a much larger DPI to be able to retain the same clarity. For more information on photo resolution, click here to read our blog post.

When writing the text for your pamphlet, keep your audience in mind. What questions are they going to have and how can you answer them in a way that they will understand. Avoid industry jargon so that even someone who is new to your industry will understand what you are writing about. Use the space of your pamphlets strategically. A folded pamphlet can help to easily break up your text into different, easily digestible, chunks.

Speaking of folding, make sure that you keep your folds in mind when you are designing your project so that no text or important information is broken up by a fold. You want to make sure that all of the main points are easy to see.
